ThermaCote® is a high-performance coating made with proprietary ceramic compounds in a water-based acrylic base. It forms a breathable, flexible surface layer that reflects radiant heat and protects against extreme temperatures. In a controlled study conducted in Agrinio, Greece, two identical pumice-block rooms were tested over winter conditions (Dec 21, 2016 – Jan 19, 2017) under EN ISO 9869:2014 protocols. The ThermaCote®-treated room achieved an R-value of 1.57 m²·K/W compared to 0.80 m²·K/W for the untreated room, a 96% improvement in insulation performance. Wall heat loss was reduced by ~41%, and energy consumption dropped by ~26% in winter (up to ~35% in summer), with an annualized reduction potential of ~30%.
